Choose November 2↗THEY ARE STILL PART OF THE STORY
There are people whose hands we can no longer hold. People whose laughter we can still hear if we get quiet enough. People whose recipes, expressions, courage, quirks, music, prayers, and choices continue living through us—even if we never had the chance to meet them.
Most days, life moves too quickly to sit with that. We carry our grief privately. We remember in passing. We say their names in our minds and return to everything that needs to be done.
Dinner with the Ancestors is a place to stop. To bring their picture. To tell the story again. To sit beside the living while making room for those who still travel with us.
This is not an evening devoted to death. It is an evening devoted to the love that death could not erase.
A GLIMPSE OF LAST YEAR’S CEREMONY
These videos are from last year’s Dinner with the Ancestors. This year, November 1 and November 2 will each unfold in a different Austin location. Both addresses are shared after registration.
THE EVENING’S LIVING ARC
Inspired by the remembrance traditions of Día de los Muertos and held with respect for their living cultural roots, both nights follow the same intentional journey.
Arrive slowly. Meet the people sharing the table and add a photograph, name, flower, letter, recipe, drawing, or meaningful offering to our living ancestor altar.
Ashleigh leads a grounded contemplation of impermanence—not to create fear, but to let mortality clarify what matters, what is ready to be released, and how you want to live while you are here.
The Enchanted Waffle serves the same three-course, farm-to-table menu on both nights, with a handcrafted non-alcoholic elixir paired to every course.
Ashleigh and Miguel close the ceremony through layered vibration, live instruments, and spacious sound—an integration space for the evening to settle beyond language and into the body.

BEFORE DINNER · A THRESHOLD INTO WHAT MATTERS
The Death Meditation Ashleigh brings to this evening comes through her training with Nine Gates Mystery School ↗—an experiential wisdom school that invites direct encounter, embodied revelation, and the practice of “dying before you die.”
This is a guided contemplation of impermanence. You will be invited to loosen your grip on the roles, expectations, unfinished stories, and imagined tomorrows that can keep you from inhabiting the life directly in front of you. It is not a performance, a prediction, or a demand to believe anything. You remain in choice at every step.
Notice the pattern, story, or obligation you no longer want to carry forward.
Let the reality of impermanence bring the people, desires, and truths that matter into focus.
Cross back into the room with a clearer choice for the life that is still yours to inhabit.
Mortality does not make the meal darker. It makes it luminous.
We enter this meditation before dinner so the meal becomes more than a meal. Flavor becomes vivid. Conversation becomes less automatic. Gratitude is no longer an idea—it is something warm in your hands, alive at the table, and shared while there is still time.
AFTER DINNER · INTEGRATION THROUGH VIBRATION
After the altar, the meditation, and three sensory courses, there is nothing left to explain. Ashleigh and Miguel guide a spacious immersion of live instruments, layered resonance, and intentional silence so the evening can settle beyond language and into the body.
This is not a concert you need to watch or a spiritual test you need to pass. Sit, recline, close your eyes, keep them open, receive fully, or simply listen. Sound becomes the final threshold: a place for memory, grief, gratitude, and aliveness to move without being forced into a conclusion.
Nothing to perform, solve, or get right.
Give the night space to settle before returning to ordinary life.
Leave grounded in what you felt—not rushed out of what opened.
The evening does not end when the last plate is cleared. It lands.
SCENES FROM THE TABLE BEFORE
